Course: Practical Bovine Reproductive Ultrasonography
Course outline
A theoretical and practical training in bovine reproductive ultrasonography.
On completion of this course the trainee will be understand the basic principles of ultrasonography, will be familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the bovine reproductive tract, be aware of health and safety considerations, understand common oestrous synchronisation programmes, and using correct scanning technique will be able to identify common ovarian structures and confirm viable pregnancies down to a foetal age of 35 days.
They will also be familiar with, and begin the process of foetal ageing using gestational tables detailing crown to rump length, trunk diameter, head diameter and head length.
For more advanced students, there is an introduction to foetal sexing.

How will the course be delivered
The course will include a theory and 2 practical training sessions. It can be delivered on-site to Veterinary practitioners, famers and scanning technicians nationwide
