Course: SCC Management & Selective Dry Cow Therapy (SDCT)
Course outline
A brief overview of SCC management in modern Dairy herds with guidance on how this information can be used to implement SDCT in conjunction with Veterinary advice. The course will assist participants in implementing the use of teat sealant therapy to replace traditional antimicrobial DCT (Dry Cow Therapy) in milking cows.
The principles of the responsible use of antibiotics outlined in this course fall directly in line with consumer driven government targets for the sustainable use of medicines and a reduction in antimicrobial resistance.
The course was written by and will be delivered by Dr Ryan Davies BVM&S MRCVS. A Veterinary Surgeon with over 20 years experience in farm animal clinical practice, he has a special interest in preventative health medicine and the reduction in the use of antibiotics in food producing animals. This course is unique to Veterinary Technical Consulting Ltd. and can be offered at any location in person or via video link.
